acne skin disorders to acne treatment

There are many skin disorders that present huge problems to a lot of people today and one of these is severe acne ailment. Although ordinary acne problems can be treated quite easily, there are several difficult cases where one has to undergo a severe acne treatment instead of just the common medicines usually prescribed by doctors.

Bear in mind that this type of acne problems may mutate into any of the four severe acne problems which are the severe form of skin disorder called acute febrile ulcerative acne which sometimes occur after an unsuccessful treatment of a different form of acne, the highly inflammatory skin disorder called acne conglobata, the nudulocystic acne which is characterized by painful bumps which lies under the skin, and the Gram negative folliculitis which shows up as lesions on the surface of the skin. If any of these four manifests on the surface of the skin, it is time to secure an appointment with the dermatologist.

There are some cases where big mounds of acne on the skin surface is not reacting anymore to the treatment being accorded by the doctor and if this happens, acne extraction and drainage is already necessary. This is a process by which the cyst-like mound on the patients skin will be removed using invasive technique or surgery. A patient suffering from this kind of disorder may actually be tempted to pinch the affected area. This urge to pinch the ripening mound must be resisted at all times because if done, could further lead to a more serious condition.

Some cases of severe acne disorders are manifested by severely inflamed bumps which if ruptured, can cause real ugly scars. Dermatologists may suggest a severe acne treatment of this type that involves injection of adequately diluted corticosteroid straight into the problem areas in order for the inflammation to abate. This concoction will also enhance the regeneration of the affected portion of the skin by dissolving the cyst-like mound for about a weeks time.

Another potent drug which is being used for severe acne treatment is Isotretinoin. This medication is usually used to treat serious cystic acne and those skin disorders that do not respond anymore to lighter forms of treatment. This drug is also used to treat clogged pores, p. acnes bacteria, excessive oil production, and inflammation. It is so effective that patients who are subjected to this kind of severe acne treatment can see the results almost immediately. However, just like any potent drug, Isotretinoin causes a lot of side effects which is why the Federal Drug Administration has regulated the use of this drug particularly to women who are currently pregnant.

Some of the side effects of this kind of severe acne treatment drug are blurred vision, headache, abdominal pains, joint pains, thinning hair, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, thinning hair, painful swallowing, and causes birth defects to the fetus inside the womb. This is why this type of severe acne treatment should not be administered at whim and must only be taken on doctors recommendation.
